Local Business Searches
Michigan Local Search Submission
Is YOUR business getting the maximum amount of exposure from being online? Yes? No? Do you even know? Or worse still, have you not even started to promote your business online yet?
Just because you have a website or some type of online presence does NOT mean that potential customers will find you on the internet! You have to actively promote your business on the internet, just as you would advertise your brick and mortar business using whatever method you are currently implementing.
Having your business appear in the Local Search results (in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc.) is mandatory in today’s business society. If people can’t find you or your website online, you can believe that they probably WILL find your competitor! And that’s not a good thing. Well, at least not for you!
There’s a simple but basic method that you should be using (at a minimum) to maximize the amount of exposure that your business gets online.
Did you know that there are numerous highly-visited online directories & search engines that will let you list your business inside? And that these places will not only send direct traffic (potential buyers) your way, but if you do happen to have a website (although that’s not mandatory), that these listings will actually improve your own website’s ‘rankings’ (the search results that people see) within search engines like Google?
Yes, it’s true. However, most companies overlook doing this step of listing their businesses simply because it’s too time consuming of a task to do! The effort is worth accomplishing though, and nobody says that “you” have to be the one who takes the time to do it. Have one of your employees research into this & expend the time to getting it done. Or hire someone to do it all for you.
There are about 50 different websites that you should have your business listed in that provide the ultimate coverage to give your business the maximum online exposure. There’s actually a lot more than 50 places, but some of the other (smaller) ones use information from the bigger ones, so by completing the main 50, you’re getting coverage in a bunch more. The best news is that almost all of these places are free to get listed in, and you only need to submit to them once with no renewal requirements for your business to be promoted within them for a long time. (that sure beats the costs for a yearly yellow pages ad or a weekly newspaper classified!)
As an example, is your business listed in any of these popular sites: superpages, local, citysearch? You can search for your business there to find out. If you’re not, you need to get listed in them. Don’t forget there’s many more that you can find by doing a search for them.
Of course, if you don’t have the time to find them all & list your business in all of them, we do offer an inexpensive service that will take care of this for you.
